Acer palmatum 'Ibo nishiki'

Acer palmatum ‘Ibo nishki’ is one of a group of Japanese maples which have the unusual characteristic of forming ‘warts’ or fissures in the bark on fairly young branches. Other cultivars with this characteristic include:’Ara kawa’ and Nishiki gawa’. ‘Ibo ‘ menas ‘warty’ and ‘ Ibo nishiki’ is an upright with green leaves with fall colors ranging from yellow to orange to red. For the collector of Japanese Maples, having at least one cultivar of this group adds one more dimension to the collection. Propagation is grafting on species understock.
