Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Lacy'

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Lacy’ is an attractive Hinoki cypress that has medium green leaves, a soft ferny leaf pattern and moderate rate of growth. It is expected to grow to close to the full size of the species which is approximately 2 0 feet. When young, it is helpful to keep the tree staked and to allow only one leader to develop. Side branches can be tipped pruned during the growing season to obtain a nice full pyramidal shape. ‘Lacy’ can be sited in full sun to mostly sun. Propagation is easy during the winter with bottom heat and mist along with root hormone.
